September 29, 2019 - 16 - "Before and After"

Transformation is a major theme in my life.  I love all 'Before/After' images.  The 90-pound weakling morphs into Mr. Atlas, a room goes from drab to fab, a cluttered closet becomes a visual altar to organization, someone goes from being a lost tourist to speaking the language and navigating the norms of a foreign land...

I love growth and learning and change, in every possible area of life.  The idea that we can improve, fulfill potential, and explore possibilities, is endlessly inspiring to me.

---

Probably the most potent manifestation of this belief is when I fell in love with this house, and thought "This house has so much potential!":

---

And this is how it turned out.  And it was so easy and fast!  (Okay, Not!  The fast and easy part is a complete lie.  But it was very, very, worth it in retrospect.)

---

Strangely though, I haven't been able to get into talking too much about homes and travel.   These are the areas where I've seen the most transformation and growth.

These are the topics I have a million opinions and ideas about.  This is what I do.  I'd almost go so far as to say that this is what I am.  Why is it that what we cherish most is often what's most difficult to share?

Maybe the problem is that these subjects are just so BIG.  I don't seem to know where to start.  When I do start I get bogged down quickly.  Each post grows to unmanageable (and unreadable) proportions.

But in the next weeks I am going to try to stop talking about transformation in theory, and begin to talk about tiny specifics.

So far I haven't known how to do this, but since I believe in growth, I believe I can learn  to do this.

     Here's to growing!
