November 27, 2019 - 75 - "Cat-aclysmic Revelations About Christopher Walken"

Christopher Walken in "Puss In Boots", where he played:  Puss...in Boots

Writerly Fantasies

I put a Christopher Walken quote on a recent post.  Later I went back to edit an error on the post.  (Yeah, I know I don't do this nearly enough, but I'm just barely managing to post daily - gotta save perfectionism for another  day  life.)  Anyway, I added at the end of the quote that it's hysterically funny  to think of Christopher Walken having a cat.  I wondered what his cat's name might be.

Then I thought:  What if there were readers out there so devoted to my posts that they dissected them for various references?  Like they'd make note of my number of references to things like, I don't know; 'pie', or 'pinball'.

You true fans out there will know that I have never spoken of pinball.  Or, well, maybe I have?

That's how it is with fans - they know more details about what you do, than you do.

I imagined that these fantasy readers would note my question and wonder what Christopher Walkins cat's name was too.

So, for all you hundreds dozens, uh, ones (?), of readers who've hardly been able to sleep for wondering about this burning question...

Revelation 1

Apparently, there have been many cats in the Walken household.   I didn't come up with all of the names , but one of Christopher Walken's cats is named:

     Girl.

Girl showed up pregnant at Christopher's house and he and his wife took her in.

I learned this next  revelation from a video about Christopher and cats.

Yep.  There's enough information on the subject to be an 11 minute YouTube video.  I savored each strange/funny/intriguing moment.  (That's the cool thing about a blog.  It gives meaning to my strange fascinations.  I do it for my 'readership'. lol)

It's from some YouTube content creators:  "The [Back] Focus".  They did a series called "Walken 101".  As they put it they'd:  "amassed an unhealthy amount of information on the actor."  (See link below.)

Revelation 2

Christopher Walken sang and danced his way through the fairytale brought to life "Puss In Boots".  Where he played: Puss In Boots.

From the clips in their video he was pretty good.  He makes a pretty stinkin' adorable cat.  And he sang and danced his little cat-playing/cat-loving heart out.  This super-impressed me.

I mean, I couldn't even imagine him having a cat, much less playing a cat.

Revelation 3

Christopher has a background in musical theater.

     Huh.  Huh?  huh.  Uhmmm....huh.

It might take some time for me to process this.

All of this, I suppose, goes to show what a good actor the man is.  Clearly I've type-cast him to such an extent that I've forgotten he's not actually a psycho lunatic megalomaniac, but merely acting like he is.

"I think that if I had grown up and had been in show business and the movies twenty five, thirty years earlier, I think I would have made a lot more musical movies."

"My favorite characters are the ones that are the most successful movies."

"Frankly, if there's such a thing as reincarnation, it would be wonderful to come back as my cat:  Living where it lives, being taken care of by me and my wife--I'm not sure you could do better than that."
