May 13, 2020 - 243 - "All Tanked Up and Nowhere To Go"

Fill 'er Up

On the way to my parent's house yesterday, we had to stop for gas.

Michael filled up.  As he got back in (and was reapplying hand sanitizer, as the cool kids do these days), he said:

Michael:   "Gas is only $1.39.  I filled up for under $20."

Me:  "Wow!  It's like we're going back in time."

Michael:  "Guess when I filled up last."

Me:  "When?"

Michael:  "In January."

Me: "Dang."

Limited Destinations

I guess the only place we are going...is back in time.

Granted, Michael was in San Miguel for a lot of the first few months of the year.   Still, we've been back for a couple of months.

If we're any indication of what people are doing, it's no wonder the world's carbon emissions have gone down so drastically.

Dreams of the Future

I've been wondering lately:  Where would I go first, if I could go anywhere and do anything?

I think I'd head out on a far-flung adventure.  Croatia, maybe.

Sigh.  But, for the moment, plans for the future are not possible.

On the bright side:   We are happy and healthy.  There's food in the fridge. We are doing great. Besides, right now the most important thing is we're, at the very least, in the same country as our parents.
