May 3, 2020 - 233 - "Leave of Absence Weekly Check-In: Week 4"

Whoa!  Has Another Week Passed Already?

     Where does the time go?

It's already been a month since my last trip!  Is that possible?  That's so crazy.

---

The first three weeks seemed reasonably long.  I guess because there was a lot of uncertainty at first, a lot to arrange, rethink, organize and plan for.  Now, I've got a routine it's starting to zoom by.  T
his last week went so fast.
Michael has experience with this from being retired for over two years now.  He says it just gets faster and faster.

I don't like that.  I don't like the feeling that time is zooming by without me even knowing it.  Unacceptable.  Maybe that's why I love these weekly check-ins.  Keeps me on track.

Now I'm wondering if routine equals productivity...or numbness?  So far, my answer is:  probably both.

---

Anyway, when I ask:  "Where has the time gone?", at least I can look right here for the answer.

Week 4:  April 27 - May 3, 2020

Habit Stats:  (I'm going to go Saturday to Friday on all stats, so there will be zero projecting about the rest of Saturday and Sunday, and I won't have to go back and adjust.  That'll be less confusing to keep track of.)

Writing:  Posts:  7 days
                    Hours:  16 hours 25 minutes
Online Learning:  2 hour 45 minutes

Exercise:  Goals met  Sweat app with Kayla Itsines
                 Walking:  2 walks. 1 on Treadmill - 1 Outside
                                    1 walk/run on Treadmill
                 Resistance:  3 (Legs, Arms, Abs)

Challenge:  1 (Medicine Ball Challenge:  beat the time for the last time I did this by 1 minute 50 seconds!)
                 Rest Day:   1

Check-Ins:  Daily: 7
                    Weekly:  1

Meditate:  7

Spanish:
    Duolingo Streak: @ Day 88
Tutoring:  1 (Had my first tutoring session with a young woman from Mexico.  Her name is Dulce, and she's got some helpful 'formulas' for learning irregular conjugations that really helped.  We had some technical difficulties, but I signed up for 6 more lessons so we'll start there.  I'm going to stick with one lesson/week for now.  She gives me homework, and I'm still doing the daily Duolingo app lessons, so I think that will keep me moving forward.)

Food:
    Servings of fruit:  11
    Servings of veggies: 14
    Servings of sugar:  4
         -Fudgesicle- 2

Weight:   8.6 pounds above goal weight.
I'm going to go by the goal I set when I started working out, instead of where I was at the beginning of these check-ins.
I'm back to about where I was at the end of that first week, but I was already a little over my goal weight.  This usually happens from Jan. to April, then I start dropping in summer.   I hope that trend holds with this new stay-home routine.

Dressed in Real Clothes:  6 days  (Yesterday I went from workout clothes to a swimsuit to sit in the hot tub after I was done working for the day...to pajamas.)

Weekend Observed:  2:30 p.m. Saturday to 9:09 a.m. on Monday.

Wins for the Week:
-Changed website name from:  DeepThoughtsonSeriousSubjects.blogspot.com, to:  DailyHitsofHappy.com
-Created some 'brand' images/colors for the new site
     -Created a Favicon for site
-May...or may not have updated the site with my new favicon
-I got a new debit card and changed most of the places I use my card.
-Got my first Spanish tutoring lesson
-Fixed the PBS Passport issue that had kept us from watching shows we wanted
-1 FaceTime chats -1 Zoom chat -emails nearly caught up

Oh Very Young

Cat Stevens

Oh very young, what will you leave us this time
You're only dancin' on this earth for a short while
And though your dreams may toss and turn you now
They will vanish away like your dads best jeans
Denim blue, faded up to the sky
And though you want them to last forever
You know they never will
You know they never will
And the patches make the goodbye harder still.
