April 20, 2020 - 220 - "Signs of the Times"

   ---

To compensate for yesterday's long, boring, and wordy post, today I thought I'd share a quick post of few words...hopefully slightly less boring.

Here are some signs (literally) of the Covid times from when I was still flying, and a couple of world-as-we-now-know-it signs.

I hope these will be relics of a strange time...someday.  I took these thinking it will be hard to remember how strange this all was.

I hope that's not just wishful thinking.

Navigation apps (wisely) suggest we all just stay home.

But if you absolutely must go out, then be sure you keep your distance, buddy.

Employee bus?  Nah, don't bother with that!  Come on in!  There's plenty of upfront parking at the airport these days!

Okay, you're here - but steer clear of each other.

In case you forgot for a second:  there's a pandemic on.  Touch nothing...then go wash your hands again.  And don't forget to sing the Happy Birthday song!   Twice!

This normally chaotic passenger pick up point is deserted, except for a few airline crews.

This early sign was just the beginning.  It may as well have said:  Life, as we know it, has been cancelled entirely.

So, yay, now I'm home and staying there except for two walks a week.  But safety is first everywhere.

No fun concerts on the river...or anything...anywhere.    Lots of good chill time at home, though!

From a Distance

     -Julie Gold

From a distance we are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs of hope
Playing songs of peace
They are the songs of every man.
