April 9, 2020 - 209 - "Braindead, Word-free, and Probably Very Sick"

Not Working is Hard Work!

Today I dealt with a lot of the paperwork, phone calls, and finances involved with taking a Covid-Induced Leave of Absence from flying.

The good news:  I got a lot done.  More good news is that this leave is do-able.  We can keep the gas on, food on the table, and even cover the occasional home organizer gadget.  For this we are very grateful.

The bad news:  my brain, nervous system, and emotions seem to be short circuiting.

Suddenly, I actually need the time off.

Tired...and Other Scary Things

     I took a nap earlier.

After I got up (again), I worked out, then searched for a few more pieces of information to finish all the paperwork.

After that I felt like taking a nap again.

This, of course, made me think:  "Oh crap!  For sure, I'm sick!!!"

Over-Monitoring the Vitals

So I went to take my temperature.

    Again.

It was normal.  Well, for me:  96.3.   I tend to have a low body temperature.
The other day I was at 97.6 and wondered aloud if that indicated something.
Michael suggested it meant I was still a degree away from being a normal human being.  LOL/Ouch!

 Neurosis About Health

Anyway, I've noticed in the last month that I have a lot more sudden and unexplained 'symptoms'!  (Example:  Unexplained chills.  Or, hello!, they could be explained by the fact that I turned the a/c down when I was working out, and didn't turn it back up later when I was sweaty and cooling down.)

I'm averaging approximately 923 similar paranoid symptoms per day.  Sometimes it takes me a while to arrive at their reality-based reasons.  During this process I like to start pondering possibilities for a really snappy epitaph.  There’s a chance that I am overreacting.

Am I the only one coming down with a serious case of hypochondria?
