April 26, 2020 - 226 - "Leave of Absence Weekly Check-In: Week 3"

Hello Australia!

Before I get to my standard (Okay...starting last week) weekly check-in, I wanted to say hello to whoever happened to accidentally click on my blog my new ardent fan in Australia.  Thank you Ardent-in-Australia!  I am very flattered.

I appreciate everyone out there who fights their way through my misspells, misspeaks, missfires, and misunderstoods to find some sort of entertainment in my posts.  But, for reals, I'm extra-extra-extra impressed that someone in Australia took the time to check this out.

I mean, you mates (notice my uncanny ability to speak directly to my audience?) have so much distraction over there.

If I were you I'd spend all day every day communing with koala bears and kangaroos, not
to mention those (k)razy kookaburros.

Damnit.  Now I've got that song about the kookaburro in the old gum tree in my brain.  I'll get it out by singing 'Tie me kangaroo down sport..."  Dang it!  That's worse.

Anyway, it just seems like the excitement would be too great; no time for reading with all those (k)ool animal-friends all over the place!

    Plus the beaches!

I probably wouldn't even be a blogger if I had all that going on around me.

---

All this talk about Australia makes me think about a horrible story I just heard.  When our nephew was a little kid (he's in college now) he nearly stepped on a tiger snake in Australia.  Apparently, the snake is so deadly if he’d been bitten he would have been dead within minutes.  There's no being saved if you get bitten by one of them.

    Terrifying!!!

---

Oh no.  I hope my blog doesn't get read by someone wandering in the outback.  You need to keep an eye out for those gnarly snakes!

Okay, Person-from-Australia, please leave a comment to let us all know you’re okay!  Otherwise we'll worry.

And, now without further ado: the moment no one's been waiting for, but that helps me to tally/be accountable for my days during this no-structure time....
