Life Without Lipstick

     I've been thinking a lot about lipstick.

    Mainly because on the few occasions when  I start to leave the house, I'll start to put it on.  Then I think, for the gazillionth time:  'Oh.  I'm just going to smear it inside my mask.  What's the point?'

     But also because, for some reason, I remembered those Avon tester lipsticks.  I used to have so many of those.  They seemed like the height of glamor to me.  To get to try on all those different colors.  Wow.  So cool!

Addicted to Lipstick

    I've heard that a person can get addicted to lipstick.  Like, you get used to that level of moisture on your lips and think you need that.  i

    These days I'm wearing a lot of Burt's Bees grapefruit lip balm.  I do feel like I need something on.  Luckily, the lip balm doesn't smear on my masks.  

    I wasn't sure if it was lip balm or some other term so just looked it up.  It came up as costing $516.43.  I still can't get used to things coming up in pesos.   (It says MXN next to the $, but I never seem to notice that.). 

     I just think:  Five hundred and sixteen dollars for chapstick!!!???  (Or...fill-in-the-blank item I'm looking at.).  I

      think it's possible that avoiding a heart attack when I see those big numbers might be more challenging than learning the language.  

Daily Hits of Happy

     -The upper rooftop has tile all the way across.  

     -I had on long sleeves all day and felt comfortable.

     -We had our neighbor over for happy hour.  We hadn't seen him in more than five months and it was so nice.  He's been a godsend for so many reasons:  Whether he's lending us his vacuum cleaner or getting a big trash can because water is shooting out of the wall of our house, or bringing over guacamole,...he's a neighbor-in-a-million and we're so lucky he's in our lives.
