August 24, 2020 - 346 - "The Road to Progress is a Winding Path"

It Looked So Good When We Saw It Last...

We pretty much had the entry together.

...again.

But then we move into the next phase of our project. (I believe there are 45 phases in the works at this point.) As new progress happens...the old progress disappears.

What Does An Entry Say About a Home?

I was looking for quotes about a home's entryway. Surely there are some out there. But, because it's a thing right now to write quotes on walls in your home, all that came up were Quotes To Place in Your Entry.

One I enjoyed was: Come in. We're Awesome! (lol)

Another read: Love makes a house a home.

I mean, yeah, I have felt awesome...on occasion, and sure, there's love here. I just didn't see any quotes that really said what we're all about these days.

I guess I was hoping for one that read: "Ongoing filth, mass destruction, and bickering over what should happen next...makes a house a home."

You'd be surprised how few of the quotes sounded anything like that.

Just shows what individuals we all are 'cause that's exactly where we're at.

The Way We...or, well, Our Entry,...Were

We found a cool rug in a consignment store around the corner from us.

Michael carried it home.

And, voila'!: Our entry was complete.
So pretty! So finished!

Then We Returned to This:

The entry is sectioned off from the rest of the downstairs by a thick plastic curtain.
The whole house was covered in a thick layer of dust.
(Nothing says 'Welcome Home' like everything being covered in dirt.)

But it's gotten worse...now the entry is covered in cardboard and filled with tile and stone.

But it gets better...

Remember the water heater and gold toilet that used to sit in the living room?

Well...they're back.

Yep. A toilet, a sink...and some more tile.

Doesn't exactly feel like Home Sweet Home.

Oh well...gotta break some eggs to make an omelet, right?
