August 5, 2020 - 327 - "How Fun Is This?"

Finding the FUN! Along the Way

I read somewhere that if there's no fun in the activity, there will be no fun in the outcome.

I've gotten so focused on getting through all of my daily challenges, that I'm forgetting to have a good time doing them.

And if the writer ain't laughin'...the reader probably ain't either.

Although, I remember a post that I wrote about an excruciatingly painful breakup back in my twenties.  It really cracked people up.  Hopefully, that's the exception that proves the rule.  Self-pity, taken to dramatic extremes, can seem humorous.  If it's not happening to you, of course.

Gratitude Along the Way

Today I am stopping to smell the roses, or in this case:  the oranges.

I got a snack this morning and really appreciated what was right under my nose.  Namely; that smell when you slice into an orange.

And how pretty it is.  An orange is a work of art.

It makes me want to personally thank everyone (and everyOne) involved in the creation of an orange.

Plus I'm thankful for every individual who helped get it to me.  All the way up and down the supply chain; from God, to rain and sun, to farmers, to people picking them, to the truck drivers getting the oranges from the grove to the store, to the checker at the grocery store...

      Thanks for oranges!

      Oranges rock.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.

It turns what we have into enough, and more.

It turns denial into acceptance,

chaos to order,

confusion to clarity.

It can turn a meal into a feast,

a house into a home,

a stranger into a friend."

-Melody Beattie

"If we lose bees, we may be looking at losing apples and oranges.

We may be looking at losing a great deal of other crops, as well,

and other animals that depend on those crops."
