Getting What We Fear Most

I always thought that germaphobes were just asking for exactly what they didn't want.  I mean, it's scientifically proven that stress and worry reduces our body's ability to handle germs.

But here we are in a world where germs present a clear and present danger.   They now get us sick in a way that we haven't quite learned how to fix.

Paranoid is the New Cool

So now we're all germaphobes.  I've never eyed doors, furniture, or other humans with such suspicion before.  It still feels rude to step back from people, or roll the window down only a little way.  It feels weird not to shake hands with people you're meeting, or hug people you know already.  But that's what I'm doing (/not doing).
